Delenn I fell in love with Amanda's voice back in 2008 when she and Brian Viglione had live songs available for free download on The Dresden Dolls website (now no longer available), and one of the tracks was a cover of "The Rainbow Connection" from "The Muppet Movie", and I simply couldn't resist putting what little I can spare down on purchasing this fantastic cover! I think Amanda's voice is even more beautiful on this than on "The Rainbow Connection" back in the day.

ambahinvasion Things are really difficult in the world right now... It’s hard to wake up each day and accept what is coined “the new normal.” For just a moment, it was nice to stop, listen to this song, and feel that same longing that we’re all going through, being sung by one of my absolute favorite bands. It was like a hug in a song. Thank you, Amanda & Brian. I love you both so much! Favorite track: THE DRESDEN DOLLS - I'M GOING TO GO BACK THERE SOMEDAY.

bichefconjure Best track I've heard in years and sounded so much like the Dresden Dolls I fell in love with so long ago! Brought emphasis & emotion to the lyrics of a 'silly children's song'. Brought legit tears to my eyes! Fucking love you Amanda & Brian!!!

the dresden dolls love you and wanted to record a sweet little lullaby for you in these heartbreaking and confusing corona-lockdown times. so many of us are homesick in our own homes, homesick in ways we never thought we would be. we were supposed to be breaking ground on a new album this year, and now everything is on pause. we miss you, and we miss each other.

lyrics

This looks familiar, vaguely familiar,
Almost unreal, yet, it's too soon to feel yet.
Close to my soul, and yet so far away.
I'm going to go back there someday.

Sun rises, night falls, sometimes the sky calls.
Is that a song there, and do I belong there?
I've never been there, but I know the way.
I'm going to go back there someday.

Come and go with me, it's more fun to share,
We'll both be completely at home in midair.
We're flyin', not walkin', on featherless wings.
We can hold onto love like invisible strings.

There's not a word yet for old friends who've just met.
Part heaven, part space, or have I found my place?
You can just visit, but I plan to stay.

I'm going to go back there someday.
I'm going to go back there someday.
